In other news Greece is expected to submit a request to the Eurozone for a six-month loan extension. The move is not an extension of the country_s current bailout agreement with the EU and IMF. Instead it_s an attempt by the nation_s new left-wing government designed to give Greece a lifeline while sidestepping harsh austerity measures. Without a new deal soon it_s possible that Greece will run out of money by the end of the month. And our viewers across Asia are celebrating the start of the Lunar New Year In China hundreds of millions of people have returned home to be with family and celebrate the start of the year of the sheep The Lunar New Year is the world_s largest annual human migration with more than three billion passenger trips by plane train and automobile over the forty day period. GPS manufacturer TomTom has released its list of the world_s most congested cities. Istanbul gets the dubious honor of having the world_s WORST traffic. Turkey_s largest city is a gateway between Europe and Asia and has the heaviest traffic during peak hours on the planet. A 30-minute drive there will take you more than an hour during the evening rush Mexico City and Rio de Janeiro rounded up the top three spots. And over in North America Los Angeles keeps its crown as the least driver-friendly city - but ranks just 10th worldwide. A thousand-year old Anglo-Saxon concoction once used to treat eye infections could hold the key to a cure for the MRSA superbug Microbiologists went to work on a remedy translated from a 10th century medical textbook found at the British Library in London. The recipe uses basic ingredients like garlic wine and bile from a cow_s stomach. Amazingly when the medieval brew was tested on the antibiotic-resistant MRSA strain it killed 999 out of 1000 bacterial cells The team was dumbfounded by the surprising results saying the treatment is effective beyond their wildest dreams. And in Siberia oil workers drilling in the frozen tundra there have made an incredible discovery: the remains of a 10000 year old woolly mammoth The workers dug up two tusks teeth and rib bones of the giant mammal which was buried about ten feet deep. There_s so much snow now in Beantown Carli that they don_t know what to do with it That_s right Peyton Boston has been hit with its THIRD major storm in two weeks. We_re talking a total accumulation now of about EIGHTY inches in the last 30 days. Here_s the latest.Two more feet of snow has just fallen on Boston smashing snowfall records. It_s really insane what_s going on there. Schools are closed once again and public transportation has been suspended and will remain closed until at least Wednesday. The storms have been relentless in the Boston area it_s snowed 13 of the past 17 days and believe it or not even MORE snow is expected later this week. In other news ten women and two men will serve as the jury in the trial of the man charged with killing American Sniper Chris Kyle. Attorneys for former Marine Eddie Ray Routh will argue he is not guilty by reason of insanity due to post-traumatic stress disorder from his time in Iraq. More than 800 summons were sent out for the trial-more than four times the usual amount. Opening statements begin in Texas on Wednesday. And a wild rush-hour police pursuit of an armed man in Los Angeles ended with the suspect being shot and taken into custody all on live TV. Police were led at high speeds through downtown streets and highways while the suspect crashed into several cars and high-jacked another vehicle. Local TV news stations in LA broadcast the pursuit live from cameras mounted on helicopters. The suspect_s identity and condition have not released. We_ll be right back.

If I would have only brought that thing when I was told to YEARS ago I_d be rich now You and me both There_s no escaping Apple_s all-conquering gadgets Here_s the story. Apple recorded a record second quarter ending March 28. They posted a mind boggling 58 billion in revenue and made 13.6 billion in profit. This is for THREE MONTHS PEOPLE Apple also now has a ridiculous 193.5 billion dollars of cash on hand. That_s more then goggle and Microsoft COMBINED Leading the charge was of course the Apple iPhone. They sold an astounding 61 million of them mostly in China. The only downside for the tech giant is the declining sales of the iPad although they still managed to sell more than 12 million in three months. Apple watch sales will be figured into their CURRENT quarter. Google is also trying to increase its stranglehold on the world of technology. The search giant wants to buy your innovative patents. Between May 8 and May 22 Google will allow patent holders to describe their patents and name a price theyd be willing to sell them for. Then over the summer Google will review the submissions and buy some of the patents. This is Googles attempt to clean up the chaos of the American patent system. It_s estimated that _patent trolls_ cost inventors up to 2.5 billion dollars a year by suing them for infringement.And in media news NBC executives have allegedly leaked details of their Brian Williams investigation in the hopes that by further disgracing the long time newsman he_ll resign and take a massive payout. The internal investigation - which we reported on Monday - found Williams lied at least ELEVEN times about his experiences as a war correspondent. Chiefs at NBC are apparently prepared to hand the former Nightly News anchor a golden parachute severance package of 20 to 30 million dollars if he walks. We_ll be right back.

After he was FIRED Slowik filed a lawsuit under the federal whistleblower act. The company has agreed to pay out 646 million dollars in fines which includes a 51 MILLION payout for Slowik. And for the first time in 15 years American consumers have a NEW number one target to moan about A report from the Federal Trade Commission shows that DEBT collectors are now the the MOST complained about consumer concern. Identify theft the previous number one slid down to second place with imposter scams coming in third. In total there were more than three MILLION complaints received by the Commission last year. But what he DIDN_T tell her was that he_d instructed the pilot to fake a plane crash She actually thought she was done Have a look. Pretty scary right? Paris was so upset by the stunt that she_s decided to sue everyone involved for emotional distress. We think she_s got a pretty strong caseAmy Schumer is one of Hollywood_s hottest comics right now and it_s partly thanks to the job she DIDN_T take. When Jon Stewart announced he was leaving the Daily Show Amy was on Comedy Central_s shortlist of candidates to replace him. But in a new interview with the New York Times she reveals she didn_t take the gig because she didn_t want to make a safe choice. It sure looks like her intuition paid off. Amy_s stock is skyrocketing and she_s got a starring role in Judd Apatow_s latest comedy Trainwreck which critics are already calling the year_s best comedy. Speaking of trainwrecks the BET Awards are always a mess but this year_s show was especially hilarious - for all the wrong reasons The biggest on-stage goof of the night award goes to P Diddy who fell through a hole in the stage. Oooh that couldn_t have felt too good. Then there_s Rihanna who wanted to shower fans with cash while previewing the new video for her single Bitch Better Have My Money. But BET President of Programming Stephen Hill wasn_t having it and the cameras caught the backstage moment when Rihanna threw a stack of bills right in his face Ri-Ri did NOT look happy And last but not least we_ve got Nicki Minaj who capped the night off with an acceptance speech for the ages. After Heath Ledger_s Oscar-winning performance it_s no secret that Jared Leto has some BIG shoes to fill as the new Joker. But based on early reports he_s taking things to a whole other level Leto was frequently absent during the film_s early prep but he sent his Suicide Squad co-stars some special gifts to let them know he was staying in character Margot Robbie received a love letter with a black box containing a LIVE RAT inside Will Smith got some bullets with a letter and Leto also sent the cast a dead hog and a special video. The actors say Leto was playing the Joker in the vid and his twisted take on the villain blew them away And Jeremy Clarkson_s final episode of Top Gear finally aired to mixed reviews this week. The 75-minute special featured co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond in an empty studio accompanied by a plastic elephant named Jeremy. Get it? The ELEPHANT in the room? Anyway some critics loved the final broadcast saying it was like watching a beloved band_s final concert. Others weren_t so impressed saying the show was past its prime and as worn out as a bald tyre. If you loved Top Gear don_t worry this isn_t the last we_ve seen of Clarkson and the boys. The smart-watch makers raised one million dollars in just 49 minutes to fund their new-age time-piece that has an outrageous battery life of seven daysIf you_re Canadian you might be spending too much time online eh. ComScore calculated Canucks spend more time on the net then anyone else about 36 hours every month visiting an average of 80 websites. As long as one of those sites is Naked News we guess that_s okay The study found that users are increasingly using the web on their phone and watching a lot more video content.And a new study has found that unless it_s marijuana or money most Americans don_t care much about green issues. The busiest day by far was Black Friday with over 185 thousand requests made. The tax fraud trial against billionaire Guy Wildenstein opened this week in Paris. French authorities allege that the head of the famous art-collecting dynasty failed to report priceless works of art property and even race horses to avoid paying taxes on them. It_s one of the biggest cases of tax avoidance ever heard in France with 600 million dollars in unpaid duties in dispute. Wildenstein and any other family members found liable could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted. And new figures from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics show than an increasing number of twenty-somethings are taking early RETIREMENT More than twice as many 20 to 24-year-olds were putting their feet up compared to a decade ago. Overall 35 percent of the population does NOT have a job and isn_t looking for one. That_s up 4 percent from a decade ago. The turnaround comes after nearly two YEARS of declining sales. Besides switching up the menu the company has also been working to improve service times and raise worker_s wages. And US treasury officials have publicly called out Russian president Vladimir Putin for being corrupt In an interview with BBC news Treasury rep Adam Szubin accused Putin of using STATE ASSETS to enrich himself and his friends and said that the US government has been aware of the corruption for years. Estimates have put Putin_s personal wealth upwards of 40 BILLION despite only earning 110 thousand a year in his role as president.
