Kat French authorities have given breast implant manufacturers one year to prove their products are safe or else have them banned completely This after France_s National health Agency found a link between implants and increased cancer risks. It_s feared that bugs can cling to the implants before surgery and eventually cause blood cancer. So far there have been an estimated 250 incidents worldwide. French officials are calling for implant companies to provide specifics on how their products are made. Those that do not will be removed from the market. A leading team of dermatologists reviewed the top 65 sunscreen brands sold on Amazon and the results show that consumers are getting burned Forty-percent of the top-selling brands did NOT meet dermatologist requirements for sun protection. There are three main factors doctors recommend in a good sunscreen: an SPF rating of 30 or more water resistance and broad-spectrum protection. But researchers found that consumers tend to make their choices based on how sunscreens smell and how good it felt on their skin. Something to keep in mind during these sizzling days of summer And the US Consumer Product Safety Commission is rolling out a huge recall on hoverboards made in China. More than 500-thousand units made by a number of different companies are being called back in due to a faulty battery. The boards_ lithium ion cells can overheat and catch fire. There have been at least 99 incidents so far. It isn_t the first major hoverboard recall we_ve seen. In December British agencies seized nearly 40-thousand of them for safety reasons. To infinity and beyond - and sooner than you think SpaceX founder Elon Musk has laid out a timeline for landing humans on Mars. At the annual Code Conference in California Musk claimed SpaceX would be able to transport people to the Red Planet within the next decade. Musk surprised attendees by saying he was a big fan of the Matt Damon movie The Martian and felt it was about 80-percent accurate. Not bad Hollywood Of course getting to Mars is only half the battle. Musk plans on unveiling an architectural plan for colonization at another conference this fall. Soccer superstar Lionel Messi made his first appearance at his tax evasion trial in Barcelona Thursday. The 28-year old Argentinean and his father are accused of using a chain of fake companies to avoid paying more than 4.5 million dollars in taxes. Both men deny any wrongdoing. During his testimony Messi claimed he had no knowledge of any fraudulent activity and that he left his finances to his team of advisers. If found guilty Messi and his father could face up to two years in prison plus fines equal to the amount defrauded. A verdict is expected next week. And for tech geeks it_s the most wonderful time of the year Apple has sent out invites for a major press event scheduled for June 13th which coincides with the first day of the Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco. Like most of Apple_s public events this one is shrouded in secrecy. Speculation is the company will be unveiling a bunch of major software updates. That should include the unveiling of iOS 10 a look at the redesigned App Store and a rumored version of Siri for your home. On the hardware side many expect to see a new lineup of MacBook Pro laptops as well as updates on gadgets like the Apple TV and the Apple Watch. From the newsroom I_m Katherine Curtis.

It_s great to have you with us for another week of fun and entertainment here at Naked News We_ll start with the headlines and what_s being called the biggest information leak in HISTORY the now infamous PANAMA PAPERS. Elise Laurenne is standing by to explain in a Naked News bulletin. Kat The Panama Papers consist of more than 11 MILLION documents from the 1970 to this year taken from the files of Panama-based law firm Mossack Fonseca. The data purports to show how dozens of world leaders and other members of the international elite conspired to launder money and avoid paying taxes The papers were passed to a German newspaper a year ago and then shared with 107 different media groups across the world. Some of the famous names appearing in the leaked documents: Icelandic Prime Minister Sigmundur Gunnlaugsson. Critics are calling for his resignation after it was revealed that he failed to declare millions of dollars of investments he held in an offshore account. Argentina_s President reportedly also failed to disclose millions in foreign-held accounts and companies as did Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. This is especially embarrassing as Mr Poroshenko had vowed to eliminate such corruption in Ukrainian politics. Russian President Vladimir Putin is not specifically listed but several members of his inner circle ARE and have been linked to a BILLION dollar money laundering scheme. In a huge blow for British Prime Minister David Cameron who has previously promised to get tough on tax evasion investments made by his FATHER are detailed as are several other senior members of the Conservative party. Representatives from Mossack Fonseca have so far denied any allegations of wrongdoing. Kat just to note: using offshore companies is not illegal. Using them to avoid paying taxes or to hide assets IS howeverWith 11 million pages it sounds like we_re just getting the tip of the ICEBERG. It will be VERY interesting to see how this one unfolds. All eyes were on Chile and Argentina and let me tell you the game did not disappoint I_m no big soccer fan but I heard this was a pretty epic match It was but the BIGGEST moment of the game happened afterwards. Here_s what went down. Argentinean superstar Lionel Messi says he_s DONE playing international soccer This after Argentina_s heartbreaking loss to Chile in the Copa America championship on Sunday. Tied nil-nil after 120 minutes the match went to a shootout. Messi fired his shot high over the net and Argentina lost 4-2 on penalties. It was the fourth time Messi_s lost in an international final and it sounds like he just can_t take any more. The 29-year old told reporters that it was his worst defeat ever and that the national team is over for him. His emotional announcement has soccer fans around the world - myself included - pleading for him to reconsider. You can probably add Tiger Woods to the list of sports heroes we_re saying goodbye to - at least for 2016. Tiger_s been struggling to recover from the back injury that_s kept him off the links for months and it_s starting to look like it_ll be another YEAR before we see him again. Tiger was in attendance at the Quicken Loans National this weekend to hand the trophy to eventual winner Billy Hurley the third. During the broadcast he let it slip that his rehab was taking longer than expected and he didn_t know if he_d make it back this year. Over to NASCAR now where Tony Stewart finally put the brakes on an 84-race winless streak In a thrilling final lap Stewart passed Denny Hamlin to emerge victorious at Sonoma Raceway in California. Hard to believe that a man who_s won 49 career Sprint Cup races HADN_T won since 2013. Tony says this is going to be his last season behind the wheel and his big win Sunday qualifies him for a shot at a potential championship run You know Tony would love nothing more than a fairytale ending. Like father NOT like son Johnny Manziel_s dad Paul has spoken out about his troubled son_s recent antics and he_s clearly fed up. The elder Manziel told ESPN his son was a druggie and that he HOPES he ends up in jail because it_d be the best place for him. Jeez tell us how you really feel pops It_s not the first time Paul_s spoken harshly about Johnny to the media. And a German meals on wheels type charity had to apologize recently after accidentally serving DOG FOOD to seniors. The charity gets about fifty-five hundred tons of food donations daily and mistook the DOG food for ACTUAL food. The high-end pooch chow came in glass jars with fancy labels describing it as venison and potatoes with garden vegetables. Easy mistake to make I guess. After attacking the Bank of Greece earlier this week they released a video on YouTube claiming it_s only the beginning. In an earlier video Anonymous singled out Wall Street and the Bank of England as prime targets for an online assault. Their campaign called Operation Icarus is also taking aim at banks in China Pakistan and Iran. The Australian government is really putting its money where its mouth is when it comes to cracking down on smoking. Pretty soon a pack Down Under will cost more than 33 dollars Cigarettes were already heavily taxed in Australia but the government_s new budget is calling for a 12.5 percent increase every year from 2017 to 2020. By the end of the plan nearly 70-percent of the price of each pack will go to taxes And scientists in Washington have put together a new type of robot capable of performing complicated surgeries. Other robots in use today need a human operating the controls but this one can carry out tasks all by itself. In fact in some cases the Smart Tissue Autonomous Robot - or STAR - performed even better than human surgeons The device isn_t ready for use in hospitals just yet but when it is it should free up its human colleagues to focus on more difficult tasks. Unlike the relatively outsider Republican convention every night of the Democratic convention will feature a speaker or two who_ve lived in the White House Headliners include Michelle Obama and Bernie Sanders on Monday Bill Clinton on Tuesday Barack Obama and Joe Biden on Wednesday and Chelsea and Hillary Clinton wrapping things up on Thursday. And if anyone thought the Democrats convention would be drama free well think again. Debbie Wasserman Schultz the CHAIRPERSON of the DNC was forced to resign following an email scandal Wikileaks released 20 thousand emails stolen from the DNC and several of them seemed to indicate a preference for Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders among party staffers In one Wasserman Schultz called a top Sanders aide a damn liar With party unity such a priority it was clear she had to goThe stakes for this convention have become even higher A new CNNORC poll suggests that following their convention the Trump ticket has pulled ahead According to the poll Trump now leads Clinton 48 to 45 percent Trump received a big convention boost among independents with his support skyrocketing from 31 to 46 percent Only time will tell if Hillary ALSO gets a post convention bump.
