Although, of course, there are not many people who not only will appreciate the work of Mudisson, but even just watch it to the end.
The most amazing thing is that “The Hole in My Heart” is not a documentary video or entertainment of underground artists who have lost their human appearance. This movie is played from beginning to end by professional actors. But played out so reliably and convincingly that it becomes uncomfortable. The Mudisson experiment actually did not arise from scratch. All associations with Piero Paolo Pasolini's or Salo or 120 Days of Sadoma (1975) or Marco Ferreri's Great Grub (1973) will be valid. The Hole in My Heart inherits the tradition of finding the high in the ugly. And, we must pay tribute to the director, he conducts his search not only honestly and courageously, but also, it seems, with some irony, since all the sickening moments are extremely exaggerated. True, it takes quite a lot of effort to appreciate all this. And even if the irony was really supposed, for some reason it becomes completely no laughing matter.
